The
text
is written or spoken words, pictures, or other objects that people can see or hear.
The text is the item that carries the meaning. A text can be words, a painting or photograph, a bumper sticker, a sign, a few minutes of a television or radio broadcast, a scene in a movie, etc. As long as it expresses a patriotic message, it can even be a flower pot or a tissue box or a Christmas decoration.
