US funded the Masjumi party in 1955. US supported and led a major military rebellion in 1957-1958 (including bringing in aircraft, weapons, ammunition, supplying CIA pilots, and even having a few US personnel involved in ground fighting, all while denying US had anything to do with the rebellion), with successful US pressure for the elimination of elections (permanent postponement of 1959 elections, which US explicitly said, in secret State Dept document it was happy to have achieved. This postponed free elections in Indonesia for four decades, decades during which the US was the prime supporter of Indonesia's now military-led dictatorship).
US financial support for the 1965 slaughter of Indonesian left (500,000 killed), including US passing money and list of names of targets to the killers, US support for new dictator Suharto's terrorist govt from 1965-1998, including during his invasion of independent East Timor and slaughter of 200,000 Timorese, when the US ambassador (according to himself) worked to prevent the world from stopping Indonesia.
